Painter Patrick Seufert

Education: Temple University, Tyler School of Art Philadelphia, PA

B.F.A. January, 2009 Major: Painting/Illustration

After graduating from Tyler in 2009, Patrick focused on his career as an urban oil painter by producing a collection of unique cityscapes. Over the course of approximately four years he painted with diligenceas in order to establish a professional body of work. He combined his love for oil painting and his fondness for illustration to create a realistic painting style. His unique point of view in describing these urban environments, challenges the viewer to see these elements in a new perspective.

Patrick grew up in suburbs of Philadelphia but always enjoyed visiting the city. He desired to present to the public, the parts of the city that most people take for granted. He noticed and also loved how some buildings can appear quite vibrant in color, given the right circumstances. Over the years Patrick has painted a variety of locales depicting the uniqueness of each. These city scenes include Philadelphia, New York, Pittsburgh, Lancaster, Denver & others.

For about seven years Patrick has traveled as far south as Virginia and as far west as Pittsburgh to exhibit his paintings. His work has been displayed in outdoor shows and galleries across the country. He also has been fortunate enough to be accepted into juried shows across the country. At these art competitions, he has be awared Best of show, Best Oil Painting, Juror’s Choice Awards and many additional prizes. Besides painting professionally, Patrick also teaches group drawing (pencil, charcoal, pastel and pen & ink) lessons to children, teens and adults. He also teaches oil painting to teens and adults at the Seufert Art Studio in Fairless Hills, PA. He hopes to continue to evolve as an artist, always exploring and producing work that he is passionate about. Patrick’s hope is that enough people can see something in the locations he chooses to paint.
